Biography
Hello! My name is April C. Brader and just like you, I discovered Traditional Chinese Medicine and Herbal Medicine due to a personal health crisis. Back in 2007, I was diagnosed as having acute renal failure after my Gynecologist discovered protein in one of my lab samples during a yearly office visit for a physical.
I was a young woman and was completely devastated by the news that my kidneys were failing. Western Medicine offered me little hope as I was referred to a Nephrologist who every month required me to undergo testing and 24 hour captures to watch my kidney function steadily decline.
I am an excellent researcher due to my Public Health background so I started researching natural healing therapies and traditions and found a Traditional Chinese Medicine Physician in California who specialized in successfully treating patients in renal failure with Chinese Herbal Formulas. At the end of the first month on the herbs, my protein and Creatinine levels were about half of what they were originally and by month three my kidney function was completely normal.
I have a career background in Western Medicine in the development and implementation of very successful Occupational Health Programs for community hospitals. I was the youngest female director for Health Corporation of America (HCA) responsible for implementing the Company Care Program in Florida and across the nation. I developed worksite ergonomic programs, work risk analysis, wellness and injury prevention programs working with some of the largest employers including the US Post Office, Home Depot, Pinellas County Schools and Florida Power Corporation.
Ever since my illness back in 2007 I started studying herbal medicine with various healers around the country. I have completed herbal programs in many different herbal healing traditions. I have been trained on and regularly use Western Herbs, Native American Herbs, Ayurvedic Herbs, Rainforest Herbs, Russian Herbs and in 2017 I completed my graduate program in Traditional Chinese Medicine, Acupuncture and Chinese Herbology. My mentor has been Dr. Jack Silverman, a very well known Healer and Chinese Medicine Physician and he always challenged me to be open to new ideas and new products and that is how I found Wei Labs. I feel very privileged to work with Wei Labs. They have outstanding herbal products which I also use when treating my own family and friends. Thousands of patients heal every year through the use of Traditional Chinese Medicine and other natural healing methods.
I now know and intimately recognize the only reason for my health crisis was to place me on a new path…To heal myself and then help facilitate healing in others. I feel incredibly blessed by the trust my patients place in me. I treat my patients as I wish to be treated with the utmost respect, kindness and on occasion, a gentle, capricious sense of humor. Experiencing a health crisis reveals significant challenges but also great wisdom; To make your health and healing a priority…to care for yourself as you would someone you love deeply.
